Sinead Geary is an Irish artist living and working in London. She graduated with a first class honours degree in Textiles from Middlesex University and went on to do a Masters of Fine Art at Kingston.

​

Her work varies from figurative etchings to a the painterly expressions of the abstractions.

The abstract work generally evolves through a subtractive process, beginning with lots of colour and bold vigorous brushstrokes and process of layering paint while at same time rubbing  it away, then layering colour again. 

​

Her work tries to recall forgotten moments or expressions, and the time and space

these emotions inhabit become disjointed and unclear. She attempts to attain an essence of feeling  of unseen internal emotions without the distraction of meaningful images . Renderings that draw the eye and hint at the exploration of the unconscious stored memory, clashing narratives and the tension and balance that exist therein.
